Surprise proposal in natural park, el torcal – antequera
Before their big holiday to Spain, Kartik reached out to me to help plan his big surprise proposal to Sakshi. He told me that they like to spend time in nature and that they met on a hike back in India. I knew instantly that we just had to incorporate that into creating his big moment. So I suggested that we would arrange his surprise proposal in El Torcal, one of the most beautiful nature parks in Spain.

PLANNING THE SURPRISE.
Together be arranged a funny way to make sure that Sakshi would not know what was coming. To keep the surprise intact, we decided that I would pretend to be a tour guide that he had booked. That way I could wait for them at the entrance of the hike, and guide them to the perfect place for Kartik to pop the question.

SETTING UP THE PERFECT PROPOSAL
I met with Kartik and Sakshi at the entrance of El Torcal and introduced myself as their local guide for the day. The funny side story is, that I used to work as a tour guide when I was younger and first moved to Spain. So it was easy to fall into the role and start telling them about the nature we were seeing. I started telling them about the unique geology of the park, and the animals that inhabit it. And just like that I was able to bring them up to an amazing viewpoint.

THE BIG MOMENT
Once we had reached the scenic spot I had chosen, I casually mentioned that I had brought a camera and as part of the tour, I would love to do a portrait of them. Of course, this was the signal Kartik and I had planned. As they stood together, Kartik suddenly dropped to one knee and Sakshi’s reaction was priceless. She had not seen it coming, and she instantly said yes.

ENGAGEMENT SESSION IN EL TORCAL
Now I could finally tell Sakshi, that I am actually a photographer, and that Kartik had hired me to capture this moment, and for us to do a real couple’s photo session here in the natural park. Super excited we all went on around the park, capturing amazing portraits all while taking in nature, and all the wildlife we saw on that day. We spotted eagles flying over our heads and mountain goats traversing the rocks. It was the perfect way to celebrate their engagement, surrounded by nature, just as their story had begun.
